KDJLaw in LawTech Hackathon and LexTech 2018
29th October 2018
As the wave of digitalisation continues to flood our shores, KDJLaw is constantly active in participating in any initiative involving technology especially those related to the legal industry.
LawTech Hackathon 20 and 21 October 2018
On 20th and 21st of October, Lawtech Malaysia held the inaugural LawTech Hackathon in Malaysia, with the objective to bridge law and tech to create a new ecosystem.
We at KDJLaw had the privilege to part of this initiative as one of the Judges for the event. With 20 teams, Jonathan Lim one of Corporate Partners was a judge under Track 4 of which the winning team of this track eventually took the 1st prize. Microsoft was the exclusive tech partner.
The Hachathon displayed the many talents whereby our young emerging Legal Beagles were able to collaborate with talented Techy(s) and presented prototypes which complements the legal system. Perhaps this will pave the first step to the uberisation of the legal industry and with more participation, the idea of a more innovative and efficient legal industry will perhaps be the leading theme for this frontier rather than the permeating insecurity of replacement.
LexTech Conference 25 and 26 October 2018
With the objective to innovate, ideate and collaborate with the best and brightest of the legal tech community in ASEAN, LexTech Conference 2018 brings on the table speakers from Malaysia and across the border, from Singapore, Indonesia, India and France.
KDJLaw is delighted to have participated and hear from many legal tech innovators, touching on topics relevant to the future of the legal industry, such as “Baseline Technology for every law firm”; “Arbitration in a Digital World”, Blockchains, ICOS, AI and Big Data.
The event was attended by many from the legal and tech fraternity in Malaysia and also supported by legal technology organisations regionally.
